COVID-19 case number 106 in our region is apparently a worker at Timmins and District Hospital.

The Porcupine Health Unit didn’t reveal that in its late Friday afternoon news release, but the hospital issued a release of its own on Saturday morning. It says “The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) was notified that a health care worker has tested positive for COVID-19. “

It also says it immediately began contact tracing, and “All potential staff, physician and patient exposures have been identified, contacted and are following the appropriate public health guidance. Any potential exposures were isolated within the hospital immediately and are following enhanced surveillance measures and the risk to our patients, visitors, physicians and staff remains low.”
